What's so good?

Holy wow. Liverpool’s up-and-coming electro producer just released a minimix for Annie Mac and it’s pretty much mind blowing. At the budding age of 14, Krissy Peers started producing under the moniker Melé, which if you fast foward to today makes him a mere 19 years old. Does his aggressively young talented nature make me jealous? Duh.

This minimix I find not only winsome and catchy, it’s interesting to see all of the different genres he’s incorporated – house, hop hip, dub, electronic, etc. If you threw in some Fleet Foxes and Johnny Cash, I think he’d have just about every genre possible covered.

Although it’s sort of mashed up and scatterbrained in composition (which I happen not to *usually* be a fan of) his immense, irrefutably visionary execution is astounding. Probably my favorite moment is when he slides from a Cajamere/Booka Shade overlay to Mylo’s “Drop The Pressue.” Capitalizing on other great artists such as Lil Wayne, Joh Talabot, Joy O, Big Sean and Hudson Mohawke, this mix is ridiculously grimey, ghetto, and amazing.

For more Melé, check out his Soundcloud.
